Relationship: the relation of one part in relation to another part or whole

 

In this series consists of short, curved lines that are layered; creating depth, value, texture, and define shape on colored fields.  The focus is on the relationship between the layered lines and color.  Each monochromatic work, with subtle exceptions, explores the relationship of color, the underlying progression of color and shape within each piece, the relation of the layers of colored line their interaction with the colored base, that alter how they are perceived. There is also a relationship between the colors and lines of the works as a whole, even though each is an individual work, they work harmoniously creating a cohesive unit, progressing from one color to the next, exploring the relationships between them.  

 

It is said that nothing exists in a vacuum.  As much as one might feel isolated, we are not.  We all are a part of a variety of relationships, significant in relation to a greater whole.
