Yellowstone Abstractions

Photographs

My work is often autobiographical and represents how I translate, process, and see the world. Observing, really looking, and truly seeing the world around me is the beginning of the creative process. I focus on and isolate color, shape, line and patterns. Through the view finder, I compose, abstracting my world into simpler components; isolating my environment, taking what I am seeing out of context allowing one to see something new and interact with it on a different level. Recently, I was fortunate to visit Yellowstone National Park. I was captivated by the colors, shapes and lines that were all around me and seemed to become a part of them, connecting to the wonders around me.
